cool…im 15 nd im workin on mah calf development right now. da only problem is dat i dont go 2 a fittness facility right now…duz any1 no any workouts i could do 2 still work on dem w/out goin 2 da gym(like calf raises…where am i spose 2 get da weight from?)
i play baseball im a catcher and squats are great for all parts of your leg im 16 and my Calf muscles and quads are like rocks 10 years of squatting up and down try this i do it all the time
when watching tv just get up and do squats
the longest i squatted for (before getting bored but not tired) was 30 mins
nice shoes!!!!! lol
ya but you look like a little gay kid walking around on your tip toes it does work i just wouldnt do that in public if i were u ha
That wasn’t nice:(
I’ve been doing calf raises until it burns, everyday and alternating diferent angles daily but they only have grown slightly. I’ve also tried taking protein powder straight after calf raises.
Can someone please help me!
im 15 too, i think u can put some sort of a weight in a backpack i suppose and do calf raise in he pyramid style or something….. im not entirely sure
Aren’t you supposed to let your muscle rest a few days before exersicing again? Aren’t calfs like any other muscle?
work 1 day, then rest 1 day is a mistake, ie a myth.
You can workout the same muscle everyday, as long as you have sufficient sleep times. Your muscles, and body rest and growth while you sleep.
First off, hung should really shut up and never ever give advice he is a complete moron. To AL256 you can work abs, calfs, forearms pretty much everyday because we use these muscles to do simple things IE walking, writing, laughing and many more. They get used so often that they really do not need much time to recover. Hope that helps. Also do not listen to that hungvan guy he has no clue as to what he is saying.
lmao this guy cracks me up! Awesome vid.
How many calves should you do each day?
calfs, like ur forearms, are one of the few muscles that u can work evryday, they are made of diferent muscle fibres than elsewhere or summit nt really sure, but they recover real quick compared to bigger muscles like ur chest and back. the best way to do them is on a step so u can strech the movement at the top and bottom of each rep.
Why do people continue to fight through out comments, these are suppose to be informational. Great tips man, Trust the burn
This guy had no idea what he’s talking about…. he doesn’t even know what the exersizes are called he refers to the angles as “straight away, toes touching, and the wide ones” he calls one of teh calf raise exersizes “the calf one that you seat.” we all know what he’s tlking about but he could have found the proper names of each exersize first… idk its just annoying
Calves are muscles that we need to survive (via; food finding) so they give off a burn long before we do damage.
like the eye is sensitive and burns when you touch it; Our body is saying; “Don’t mess with this”, when it creates a burn in the muscles that we need the most.
To build muscle, you must have a muscle fail repeatedly for your brain to see a need for more muscle fibers. So it’s about failure, not burning.
How’s that for bs? Better than him huh. I’m probably even right.
2 i guess
this guy needs to get some formal education in exercise physiology… first off the angles that one works on their calves doesn’t even matter. The reason the calves are more difficult for some people is because the soleus muscle fatigues before the gastrocnemius, causing temporary “burning” before the gastroc muscle is maximally trained. secondly one should never train any bodypart everyday like he suggests. It puts way too much strain on the Central Nervous System and leads to overtraining.
some of you who say “oh thats not how you do it, he doesnt know anything” well if your takeing over 150 grams of protein, your doing the wrong thing too, so your no better than that hungvan guy. if you dont agree try asking a dietian, they’ll tell you your ruining your liver
why would u work out ur calfs everyday, they will never have time to rebuild
what?? youre NOT spose to take over 150 grams of protein per day??
It is well known that calves are very hard to increase in size due to their high levels of low-twitch fibers (something like 70%)
I’m in the have not catagory. I rarely wear shorts because I hate my little chicken legs. The different angles make sence to me. I’ll be glad to take some weight off the calf machines too. To date I’ve been getting nowhere with my calfs. Thanks for the tips.
this reminds me of the Napoleon Dynamite trainer haha!
